Effects of surfactant solubility on the hydrodynamics of a viscous drop in a dc electric field

The physico-chemistry of surfactants (amphiphilic surface active agents) is often used to control the dynamics viscous drops and bubbles. Surfactant sorption kinetics has been shown play a critical role in deformation extensional shear flows, yet best our knowledge these effects on drop an electric fieldhave not accounted for. In this paper we numerically investigate surfactant-covered field. Over range conductivity permittivity ratios between interior exterior fluids, focus dependence flow transfer parameter $J$, Biot number $\text{Bi}$ that characterize extent surfactant exchange bulk. Our findings suggest solubility affects electrohydrodynamics distinct ways as identify regions where (1) may alter both circulation fluid around drop, (2) mainly deformation.
